Around 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, bringing strong winds reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Locals reported substantial frozen pellets as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Rescue organizations handled 598 requests for assistance across the region, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was expected to become the wettest day, with ongoing storm activity expected across various areas of both states.
